If you need a good open source SysLog server try Visual Syslog Server for Windows 1.6.4

I had some crazy Internet traffic coming into my network at 7am and 7pm daily for the last few weeks, so the analysis in my Cisco router and firewall rules and logs indicated an issue. I resolved it and then enabled syslog to keep an eye on it.
