There is an alternative to Terminal Services that has just surfaced.
On a Windows 2016 Standard Server, with lots of RAM and processor, and two SSD drives, one for boot and one for data and VMs, one can configure Virtual Box and separate operating systems within for remote access using bridged network adapters and port forwarding all the way from the Internet through three layers of security appliances to VMs. Pretty slick. the VMs managed on the server is interesting, and the isolation is amazing, and the performance is rocket fast.
Plus the benefit is the portability of the VM. I can copy, move, support the VM from anywhere.
