In 2020, already we have seen a shift in PC design that is supposed to be carbon negative with lower TDP yet the shift to RGB on some designs is cool yet worrying. What we love is a powerful system to match the needs of the client, and yet a Go Green Earth Friendly overall solution.
We are going with Linux Mint In and Microsoft Out. We won't be like some governments and countries where they try and not finish the job. We did our research for the last 1, 3, 5, and 10 years, and DistroWatch
has interesting research to share.
We are cranking up the base CPU core count from quad core to octo (8) core, and the RAM from 4-8GB to 16-32GB. The drive technology change is going from platter SATA III to SATA SSD or NMVe. No optical drives, smaller cases, about the same power supplies, etc.
Our designs will be posted shortly. Our AMD 2700X, 3700X, 3950X are more high end for our business clients, yet many virtualization solutions we have deployed in finance and healthcare are still dual or quad core when data and reporting is required.
