For those experiencing this in Windows 10 using Adobe Acrobat Standard XI or Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, there is a registry issue and hack that needs to be implemented. This usually works.
You must update Adobe Acrobat as quickly as possible to the latest updates before it crashes. Open up Adobe Acrobat, click Help, Check for Update.. get that started, and close Adobe Acrobat while the updates are downloading and processing..
ALSO, verify and check to see if this registry entry exists...
Go into the windows registry to the location below and change the PreferExternalManifest to 0 or add a DWORD (32) entry for it and set to 0, or just delete the entry.
Computer/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Wow6432Node/Windows/CurentVersion/SideBySide
REMINDER -- !!! You must update Adobe Acrobat as quickly as possible to the latest updates before it crashes.
